Yorkshire Terrier Dog Training Tips

Below are some of the basic things you should know when undergoing a Yorkshire Terrier Training. Keep in mind that Yorkies are very brilliant breed of dogs. They can learn things quickly. And by following these rules, it should be very easy for you to handle your pet.

  • Only you, as a master, and no other else in the house should take charge in training your dog, so he doesn’t get confused. Be authoritative at all times. Be the leader of the pack. Set your dog limitations and boundaries.
  • When setting rules for your dog, make sure everyone else in the household does follow. The key is to be always consistent.
  • Always remember that physically hurting your dog when he misbehaves will never be helpful and would only aggravate his behavior. Instead, let him feel by showing a frustrated energy that what he did is not tolerable. Never pity him. On the other hand, whenever he shows good behaviors, reward him by praising, petting, or giving affection and treat.
  • Always keep in mind that change of behavior in your dog doesn’t take overnight. Do not bombard him with so many things to do. Make sure he gets a good rest after a tiring session.

The rules are easy, aren’t they?

Dog training definitely provides benefits to you and your dog in the long-run. Well-trained dogs are happy dogs. They know exactly what is good and what is expected of them to do. It is as simple as that and is worth all the efforts.
